Job Summary

Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Generalist will leverage his/her fundamental knowledge in a broad array of HR competencies to provide analytical and logistical support to the effective and efficient operation of the HR department. The HR Generalist will perform HR-related duties on a professional level carrying out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Onboarding/Offboarding, Leave management, Benefits administration, HR reporting, and Compliance.

Duties / Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborates with Director of HR to execute day-to-day tasks supporting all Human Resources function areas including payroll, benefits administration, performance management, recruitment, new hire and onboarding processes, employee engagement and regulatory compliance.
  • Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates, schedules and coordinates interviews and responds with follow up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
  • Assist with preparing employee separation notices and related documentation.
  • Assist with medical, STD/LTD, FMLA, WC claims processes.
  • Interfaces with all levels of the organization (including executives, managers and staff). Acts as human resources liaison to employees and HR-related vendors assisting with inquiries, requests, and the resolution of complaints.
  • Assist with policy creation and implementation. Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
  • Maintains HR systems and databases, updates promptly and accurately.
  • Complies with all company polices, HR affiliated standard operating procedures, and all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Provides logistical and administrative support to the HR Director. Assists with special projects as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong project coordination, time management, organizational and prioritization skills with attention to details.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to address sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications required. A minimum of 5 years experiencing working in Microsoft Excel.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification highly desired.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years human resources experience with a minimum of 1 year working as a HR Generalist. 1 year of payroll processing experience required.
  • Experience and proficiency with payroll processing systems mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
